The Guru Granth Sahib (ਗੁਰੂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ), is the sovereign active living Guru of the Sikhs. It is a voluminous text of 1430 Angs, compiled and composed during the period of Sikh gurus, from 1469 to 1708. It is a collection of Shabads, or Baani, describing the qualities of God and why one should meditate upon God's name.
Dasam Granth (ਦਸਮ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ) is a scripture containing much of the texts attributed to tenth Sikh guru, Guru Gobind Singh. Dasam Granth is separate granth and should not be confused with Sri Guru Granth Sahib. The compositions of the Granth set out the ideas, thoughts and guidelines for the future of the Nanak panth as enshrined in the Khalsa.
